Our Story
How Northwest Community Church Began
In January of 1985, five couples living northwest of Lincoln, Nebraska initiated a Bible study group with the expressed purpose of eventually establishing a church with Bible-teaching and fellowship emphasis. The group grew in size, deciding in late 1987 to both call a Pastor and affiliate with the Berean Fundamental Church Fellowship. In December of that year, Northwest Community Church was planted - with the goal of reaching northwest Lancaster County for Christ.
The church family initially met in Malcolm in the Westfall School building. In 1989, land was purchased on the outskirts of Malcolm, where construction began on a church building. The work was accomplished mostly with the volunteer labor of members of the church body. The building was finished, dedicated and first utilized for services on July 1, 1990.
The building has had two additions since it was first dedicated; the most recent being in 2024 when we added 6 new classrooms, additional bathrooms and storage.
We currently serve a wide variety of families from the surrounding communities. We have 91 members and an average attendance of 170 per week.
